Clallam County Adopts Water Specialist, Land Policy Changes

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Clallam County Board of Commissioners approved two recommendations from the 2025 Charter Review Commission on July 14, 2026.

The first recommendation created a new 'Water Resource Specialist' position within the Department of Community Development, which will focus on collecting and analyzing water resource data. The Board will review budget options for this position during the 2027 planning process.

The second recommendation established a standardized policy for responding to state and federal land transfer requests. The County Administrator is drafting an update to County Administrative Policy to ensure consistent responses, using a recent federal agency comment letter as a template.
