Clallam County Moves on Charter Review Recommendations

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Clallam County Commissioners approved two recommendations from the 2025 Charter Review Commission on July 14, 2026.

The first recommendation involves creating a new Water Resource Specialist position within Community Development. The County will consider this during 2027 budget planning. The second recommendation establishes policies for responding to state and federal land transfer requests, with a draft policy now being developed.

The County Administrator has already drafted a response letter to a federal agency as a template for future land transfer reviews. Three additional Charter amendments will appear on the November 2026 ballot.
