HERITAGE ADVISORY BOARD PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
The Clallam County Heritage Advisory Board (HAB) invites the public to attend the special HAB America 250th
Time Capsule Dedication Ceremony on Monday, December 7, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. in the Board of
Commissioners Board Room 160, 223 East 4th Street, Port Angeles, WA 98362.
Date: December 7, 2026
Time: 4:30 p.m.
Location: Board of Commissioners Board Room 160, 223 East 4th Street, Port Angeles
The time capsule represents a meaningful connection between our community today and those who will look
back on this historic milestone in the years to come. The dedication ceremony will recognize the importance
of preserving local history and commemorating America’s 250th Anniversary.
After the ceremony the time capsule will be displayed in an alcove on the west side of the Historic Clallam
County Courthouse. Keeping it above ground protects its contents and lets visitors see it for years to come, a
daily reminder that today’s students are part of the county’s story and history.
The HAB would like to extend its sincere appreciation to five Clallam County school districts for their efforts
in helping build the time capsule and contributing historical items. Their participation and support have
helped make this project a collaborative community effort, ensuring that pieces of our local history will be
preserved for future generations.
Community members are encouraged to attend and be part of this special occasion as Clallam County
celebrates its heritage and looks ahead to the future.
Security:
Please be aware that the courthouse’s Single Point Security Entry process is now in effect. All individuals
entering the facility will be required to go through security, so please plan accordingly and allow enough

secure items before entering the facility. It’s recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete
the security process and be in the Commissioners Board Room 160 by 4:30 p.m.
