State Highway 104 reopened in both directions Friday afternoon after a fire on the west side of the road prompted a closure. Drivers are urged to remain cautious as firefighters continue to battle the blaze, according to the Peninsula Daily News.
The fire, which began on Wednesday, caused a temporary closure of the highway. The Peninsula Daily News reported that workers from Interwest Construction, Inc. were also working on a roof replacement project on Wednesday afternoon, but this was unrelated to the fire.
Clallam Transit approved a six-year development plan that includes expanded services such as Strait Shot, and Habitat for Humanity broke ground on a historic housing development in Jefferson County. Peninsula businesses are participating in a statewide Eat Local campaign to support independent farmers.
