Project SAFER Expands Emergency Response Tools

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Clallam County has launched Project SAFER, a new initiative to improve emergency responses for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program allows families to create detailed profiles for first responders to access during emergencies, including communication preferences and approach strategies.

The Project SAFER Response Form, available online or in person at Clallam County Health & Human Services, will be stored in a HIPAA-compliant database. First responders can access this information to better assist individuals during emergencies. The county will host a public event at the Clallam County Fairgrounds on August 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., where families can learn more and receive free fair tickets.
