Clallam County has launched Project SAFER, a new initiative to improve emergency responses for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The program allows families to create detailed profiles for first responders to access via a HIPAA-compliant database. The Project SAFER Response Form can be completed online, by mail, or in person at Clallam County Health & Human Services. First responders will be able to access the information to better communicate with and assist individuals during emergencies. The program will be highlighted at a community event on August 20, 2026, at the Clallam County Fairgrounds.
