Project SAFER Response Form Now Available

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Clallam County has launched Project SAFER, a new initiative allowing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to create emergency response profiles. The Project SAFER Response Form, available online, by mail, or in person at Clallam County Health & Human Services, will store details about communication needs and approach preferences for first responders. The form complies with HIPAA, ensuring privacy and secure access for police, fire, and emergency personnel.

The initiative was highlighted at a community event on August 20, 2026, at the Clallam County Fairgrounds. Local leaders, including Gary Fraser of OESD114 and Jen Mackey of Sequim High School, praised the collaboration between agencies. The form will be accessible to first responders to improve emergency interactions, with a community event planned for August 20 to promote the program.
