SR 9 Fish Passage Work Causes Lane Reductions

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

State Route 9 near Kalloch Road (MP 59) will operate with a single lane and alternating traffic through a bypass road from August 3 to September 14 for fish passage construction. A second project will alternate traffic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays near Mount Vernon Big Lake Road (MP 49) from August 21 to September 3.

WSDOT states delays are expected during these closures. The fish passage project aims to improve habitat for salmon and other fish species. Drivers should plan for extended travel times during the work periods.

Additional roadwork includes I-5 and I-405 maintenance in the Seattle area, but the Olympic Peninsula focus remains on the SR 9 fish passage projects.
