The Wilder 12U baseball team went 3-1 in pool play at the Cal Ripken state tournament, winning three straight games on Thursday and Friday at Lincoln Park. Carson Stoval hit home runs in all three victories, according to the Peninsula Daily News.
The Wilder 14U team also advanced, winning two of three games in their pool play. The teams competed in the Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth state tournaments, which are held for youth baseball players across Washington state.
The Port Angeles Lefties lost two games to Wenatchee AppleSox before nearly securing a win in the series finale, with the winning run reaching base in the bottom of the ninth inning. Meanwhile, the fourth annual Pat Webber Memorial Pickleball Tournament concluded over the Fourth of July at the Port Angeles Wharf parking lot.
